About Amy Wuttunee

I am of Cree heritage and was born on Red Pheasant Reserve in Saskatchewan. My mother and father, Lillian and Gilbert, were both born in Red Pheasant. Gilbert in 1892 and Lillian in 1914.

The Battle River, around Battleford, was our traditional territory until the signing of the treaty in 1877, when Red Pheasant, Chief of the Battle River Crees, agreed to move his band to the Eagle Hills area, and to the new reserve, Red Pheasant. (see 'the treaties - excerpts)

I spent my youth in the prairies, moving to Edmonton for a year and then to Vancouver in 1958. I have lived here since and raised my family, my daughter Sherry, and son Grant. My daughter has two children, Nathan Wuttunee S., who is 15+ and Jacqueline Noelle, 14.
